Qualification for Uefa cup

The Scottish League Cup was played for the 49th time in 1994/95 . The Scottish Football League Cup began on August 9, 1994 and ended with the final on November 27, 1994 at Ibrox Park in Glasgow. The cup competition was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League . If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out . In the final, the Raith Rovers from the Second Division won 6-5 on penalties against Celtic Glasgow . After a final defeat in 1948/49 against the Glasgow Rangers, the Rovers were able to win the league cup for the first time. The victory in the final qualified for participation in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup , in which the third round of the competition was reached. After wins against GÍ Gøta and ÍA Akranes , the team from Kirkcaldy, which had previously been promoted to the First Division , lost to FC Bayern Munich . It was the first time that a sub-class Scottish team was able to qualify for a European Cup competition.
