The Scottish League Cup was played for the 63rd time in 2008/09 . The Scottish League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League and the Scottish Premier League , began on August 5, 2008 and ended with the final on March 15, 2009. If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, it came to the penalty shootout. Celtic Glasgow secured the title in the final against Glasgow Rangers .
