Elgin City (officially: Elgin City Football Club ) is a Scottish football club from Elgin . The club currently plays in the Scottish League Two , the fourth-highest division in Scottish football. The association was founded in 1893. Elgin City was created through a merger of two associations in the Moray region.
The club plays its home games in Borough Briggs . Until 2000, Elgin played in the Highland Football League , a league that was not yet part of the Scottish professional league system at the time. In 2000, it was accepted into the Scottish Football League , as the 4th division was increased from 10 to 12 teams. Since then, Elgin has not been able to move up to the 3rd division.
