The Scottish League Cup was played for the 61st time in 2006/07 . The Scottish League Cup, which was officially played as the CIS Insurance League Cup , began on August 8, 2006 and ended with the final on March 18, 2007. The clubs of the Scottish Football League and Scottish Premier League took part in the competition. If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out. Hibernian Edinburgh won the title in the final against FC Kilmarnock .
