Garry Hay (born September 7, 1977 in Irvine ) is a former Scottish football player . Hay, who played mostly as a left full -back in his career , played for his home club FC Kilmarnock in more than 300 league games between 1999 and 2013. The biggest success of his career should be the victory in the Scottish League Cup in 2012 over Celtic Glasgow .

Gary Hay, who was born in Irvine, a coastal town in the southwest of Scotland, began his career in Kilmarnock, about eleven kilometers to the west . For FC Kilmarnock he played from 1995 to 1999, initially in their youth. Hay made his professional debut on matchday 1 of the 1999/2000 season under coach Bobby Williamson against Glasgow Rangers which was lost 2-1. On the second day of the match he scored the first two goals in a 2-0 home win over FC Aberdeen that he was able to achieve as a professional. During this time he played as a midfielder later Hay, however, was of the following coaches including Jim Jefferies and Mixu Paatelainen for full-back turned. From the mid-2000s he was allowed some games as captain of Killie complete. With FC Kilmarnock, Hay reached the final of the Scottish League Cup three times, two of which were lost. In the 2000/01 season he lost 1-0 in the final to Celtic Glasgow followed by the 2006/07 final defeat in which he acted as captain and which was lost 5-1 to Hibernian Edinburgh . It was not until the third finals in 2011/12 that he was able to win the trophy with Kilmarnock by beating Celtic. Hay ended his career with Airdrie United in Scottish League One , for which he played four times.

Scottish B national team

On December 6, 2005, Hay came to a use in the Scottish B national team against Poland, which was won 2-1. Rugby Park , the home ground of FC Kilmarnock, served as the venue .
