The Scottish League Cup was played for the 4th time in 1949/50 . The Scottish Football League Cup, which was played among the participants of the Scottish Football League , began on August 13, 1949 and ended with the final on October 29, 1949 in Hampden Park in Glasgow . As the defending champion, the Glasgow Rangers started the competition, which had prevailed against the Raith Rovers in the previous year's final . In this year's final, FC East Fife met second division club Dunfermline Athletic . The Fifers reached the final in the League Cup for the second time after 1948 , the Pars from Dunfermline for the first time. The Fifers won the final 3-0 after goals from Davie Duncan , Charlie Fleming and Henry Norris and took the title for the second time after 1948. The Fifers were fourth in the first division season 1949/50 , the Pars third in the second division .
