The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 44th time in 1949/50 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 44th edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1949/50 season, 16 clubs competed against each other in a total of 30 game days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship was won by Greenock Morton , who secured promotion to Division One together with runner-up Airdrieonians FC . The top scorer with 24 goals was Neil Mochan of Greenock Morton.
