The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the ninth time in 1901/02 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the ninth edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two .

In the 1901/02 season 12 clubs competed against each other in a total of 22 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs (with the same number of points) were placed tied. The championship was won by Port Glasgow Athletic . In addition to the club from Port Glasgow , the runner-up Partick Thistle also rose.
