The Scottish Football League First Division was held in 2007/08 for the 33rd time as only the second highest Scottish league under this name. In the second-highest division of men's soccer in Scotland , 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 matchdays in the 2007/08 season, which was played from August 4, 2007 to April 26, 2008. Each team played four times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .
The championship won Hamilton Academical , which also secured participation in the 2008/09 Premier League season . Queen of the South qualified by reaching the Scottish Cup final , which was lost to Glasgow Rangers , for the UEFA Cup in which the second division team was eliminated from the competition against the Danish representative FC Nordsjælland . Stirling Albion had to relegate to the Second Division . The FC Clyde kept the class after relegation. The top scorer with 19 goals was Richard Offiong of Hamilton Academical.
