The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 52nd time in 1957/58 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 52nd edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1957/58 season, 19 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 match days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship won Stirling Albion , which together with the runner-up Dunfermline Athletic secured promotion to Division One. Scorer with 45 goals was Peter Price from Ayr United .
