The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the third time in 1895/96 . After the introduction of Division One , it was the third event, as the second highest division of football in the men's Scottish Football League under the name Division Two .

In the 1895/96 season, 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs (with the same number of points) were placed tied. The championship was won by FC Abercorn , who also secured promotion to the following Division One season in 1896/97 .
