The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the seventh time in 1899/1900 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the seventh edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two .

In the 1899/1900 season, 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs (with the same number of points) were placed tied. The championship won Partick Thistle , who rose to Division One alongside runner-up Greenock Morton .
