Herbert Ohning

Herbert Ohning (born July 2, 1906 in Deutsch-Wilmersdorf , † September 8, 1959 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Ohning was the son of a district administrator . After high school , he first did a commercial apprenticeship in the iron wholesale trade and then studied law and political science at the Berlin University . In 1930 he became a member of the SPD. In the Weimar Republic , Ohning worked for professional associations until he was dismissed for political reasons when he "came to power " in 1933.

After the Second World War Ohning independent was a merchant and Association managing director . In the Berlin election in 1948 , he was elected to the district council in the Schöneberg district. In the following year he moved up to the Berlin city council , since Konrad Dickhardt was a district councilor. From 1951 to 1954 he was an honorary member of the Higher Administrative Court in Berlin . In 1954 he moved again to the Berlin House of Representatives , as this time Horst Simanowski was district councilor.

When the Federal President was elected in 1959 , Ohning was a member of the 3rd Federal Assembly . Two months later he died completely unexpected, his successor in the House of Representatives was Dora Lösche .
