The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 19th time in 1911/12 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the nineteenth edition of the men's second highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two .

In the 1911/12 season, 12 clubs competed against each other in a total of 22 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs with the same number of points were placed equally. Ayr United won the championship . There was no newcomer this season. The place vacated by the withdrawal of Port Glasgow Athletic was taken by FC St. Johnstone .
