The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 61st time in 1966/67 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 61st staging of the men's second highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1966/67 season, 20 clubs competed against each other in a total of 38 game days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship won Greenock Morton , who secured promotion to Division One together with the runner-up Raith Rovers . The 1904 Scottish Champion , the Third Lanark Athletic Club, had to declare its insolvency before the Board of Trade after the end of the season and was dissolved as a result. Joe Mason of Greenock Morton was the top scorer with 34 goals .
