The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 45th time in 1950/51 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 45th edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1950/51 season, 16 clubs competed against each other in a total of 30 game days. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship was won by Queen of the South , who secured promotion to Division One together with runner-up Stirling Albion . The top scorer with 31 goals was Peter McKay of Dundee United .
