The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the eighth time in 1900/01 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the eighth edition of the men's second-highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two .

In the 1900/01 season 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the clubs (with the same number of points) were placed tied. The championship was won by FC St. Bernard’s . There was no newcomer this season. For FC Linthouse , which was withdrawn from Division Two in the previous season, FC East Stirlingshire was new to the league.
