The Scottish Football League Division Two was played for the 41st time in 1946/47 . After the introduction of Division One , it was also the 41st staging of the men's second highest football division in the Scottish Football League under the name Division Two . In the 1946/47 season, 14 clubs competed against each other in a total of 26 matchdays. Each team played once at home and away against every other team. The 2-point rule applied . In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship won the FC Dundee , who rose together with the runner-up Airdrieonians FC in Division One. The top scorer with 38 goals was Bobby Flavell of Airdrieonians FC.

The season was the first after World War II ended in 1945.
