The Scottish Football League Division Three was played for the fourth time in 1946/47 . It was the fourth of six seasons in Division Three as the third highest division in Scotland . After the Second World War it was the first season since 1939 that was played across Scotland.

In the 1946/47 season, 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 18 match days. Each team played twice against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal quotient counted . The championship was won by Stirling Albion , which together with third place Leith Athletic , secured participation in the Division Two season 1947/48 .
