The Scottish Football League Second Division was played in 1992/93 for the 18th time after the introduction of the Premier Division as the third highest Scottish league . In addition, it was the eighteenth event as the third highest division of men's football in Scotland under the name Second Division . In the 1992/93 season, 14 clubs competed against each other in a total of 39 match days. Each team played three times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .

The championship was won by FC Clyde , who at the same time secured participation in the 1993/94 First Division season . In addition to Clyde , the runner-up Brechin City also rose. The top scorer with 26 goals was Miller Mathieson from FC Stenhousemuir .
