The Scottish Football League Second Division was played in 2002/03 for the 28th time after the introduction of the Premier League as the third highest Scottish league . It was also the twenty-eighth discharge as the third highest football -Spielklasse the gentlemen in Scotland under the name of Second Division . In the 2002/03 season, 10 clubs competed against each other in a total of 36 matchdays. Each team played four times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted .
The championship won the Raith Rovers , which secured themselves the same time participation in the First Division season 2003/04 . In addition to the Rovers , the runner-up Brechin City also rose. FC Stranraer and FC Cowdenbeath had to relegate to the Third Division . The top scorer with 21 goals was Chris Templeman of Brechin City.
