The Scottish Football League Second Division was played in 1993/94 for the 19th time after the introduction of the Premier Division as the third highest Scottish league . In addition, it was the nineteenth event as the third highest division of men's football in Scotland under the name Second Division . In the 1993/94 season, 14 clubs competed against each other in a total of 39 game days. Each team played three times against each other team. In the event of a tie, the goal difference counted . It was the last season in which the 2-point rule applied.
The championship was won by FC Stranraer , who at the same time secured participation in the 1994/95 First Division season . With the reintroduction of the Third Division in the 1994/95 season (last played in the 1948/49 season ), the clubs were relegated from positions seven to fourteen. The top scorer with 29 goals was Andy Thomson of Queen of the South .
