The In der Strei nature reserve is a 50- hectare nature reserve east of Silbach in the urban area of Winterberg . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan . The district government of Arnsberg was first designated as a NSG in 1957. Since 2004, 30 hectares of the NSG have also been designated as an FFH area in the Strei (DE-4717-311).

The NSG covers parts of the headwaters of the Vossmecke with flat and transitional moors, near-natural source streams, swelling alluvial forest, grassland and forest. The grassland is grazed with cattle .
