NSG Upper Orke

The nature reserve grassland complex upper Orke is a 45.11 hectare nature reserve (NSG) northeast of Elkeringhausen in the urban area of Winterberg . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan . The NSG belongs to the FFH area Upper Orketal .

The NSG includes the area of ​​the upper Orke after leaving the forest areas of the Glindfeld Forest. The NSG consists mainly of grassland on both sides of the Orke. The grassland is mostly grazed with cattle . In addition to wet grassland on the Orke, there are poor pastures on the northern slope of the valley in the NSG. Forest areas are partially included in the NSG.
