Hoppecke-Quellbach is a 16.92  hectare nature reserve (NSG) in the Rothaargebirge . It is located in the urban area of Winterberg in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis . It was designated as a three-part NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Winterberg landscape plan .

Geographical location

The NSG is located in the northern Winterberg district of Niedersfeld . 3.5 kilometers west-southwest of the NSG is Niedernfeld, 6.5 kilometers north-northwest the other side of the long Bergs ( 843.2  m above sea level.  NHN preferred) Bruchhausen ( Olsberg ), and 2.5 km south west south Hildfeld (winter mountain), the other side of the Clemens Bergs (approx.  837  m ) is located.

The NSG is located in the Langenberg natural area (No. 333.58), part of the natural sub-unit Winterberger Hochland (333.5).

The central and southern parts of the NSG end in the northeast on the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse and the Waldeck-Frankenberg district there with the municipality of Willingen and the Diemelsee nature reserve .

The three NSG parts are spatially a little apart. The southern part, the largest area of ​​the entire protected area in terms of area, is located in the middle of the northeast slope of the Clemensberg at a height of slightly more than 700 to 772.5  m ; this is followed by the New Hagen NSG with the Hoppecke spring at two points on the upper slope . The middle part is located on the lower part of the northern slope of Clemensberg at an altitude of around 694 to 774  m ; it borders in the north on the southeastern Olsberg district of Bruchhausen. The small northwest part lies on the extensive transition area from Clemensberg to Langenberg at an altitude of 740 to 775  m ; in the north it meets the NSG Erlenbruch .

The NSG comprises three sub-areas of a larger area close to the source on the upper reaches of the Hoppecke and two smaller areas at two nameless small tributaries, whereby only the source area was included in the NSG for one of the two tributaries.
