The Haumecke nature reserve is a 98.37 hectare nature reserve (NSG) northwest of Züschen in the urban area of Winterberg . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan .

description

The NSG includes the grassland brook valley of the Haumecke brook . The grassland is grazed with cattle . The NSG is equipped with typical species and biotope inventory of the Rothaargebirge . Especially with species-rich poor pastures on the valley slopes and valuable wet and wet grassland near the stream.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the Grünlandbachtal with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
