The Mittleres Negertal nature reserve is an 8.7 hectare nature reserve north of Siedlinghausen in the urban area of Winterberg . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan . The NSG includes the valley areas of the Negro with their grassland north of the outskirts of Siedlinghausen to the reservoir in the valley. At the southern tip of the NSG, an area is only temporarily, i.e. temporarily, designated as NSG. With the implementation of the existing development plan , the NSG designation is no longer applicable.

description

The NSG is the brook Neger and the floodplain . There are mostly alders and other trees along the stream. Also Pestwurzfluren can be found by the stream. Otherwise there is only grassland in the floodplain. The grassland is mostly grazed with cattle and used as a hay meadow. There is a fallow parcel of wet grassland by the lake.

The Negro flows here as a wide, meandering low mountain range. The stream has changing flow speeds and a stony stream bed. There are local bank breaks. Dipper and gray wagtail can be found by the stream . In the Negro herself the flowing water cockfoot occurs. The large stones of the stream bed are populated by submerged mosses. At the foot of the slope on the left rebound slope there are soaky areas with spring corridors. On the slope, a meadow overgrown with individual bushes has been included in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The designation was carried out according to the landscape plan for: "Preservation and optimization of a species-rich biotope mosaic consisting of lean and wet grassland of different intensity of use in connection with a near-natural section of the Negro brook as a habitat for sometimes rare and endangered animal and plant species; securing and extensification of the traditional grassland use agriculturally suboptimal locations through contract offers to maintain and improve these communities.
