The Upper Nuhnetal nature reserve is a 27.49 hectare nature reserve (NSG) southeast of Winterberg and south of the federal highway 236 . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan .

description

In addition to the course of the Nuhne, the NSG includes grassland. The grassland is mostly grazed with cattle .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the grassland valley with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
