Hausstätte nature reserve

The Hausstätte nature reserve is a 12.08 hectare nature reserve (NSG) northeast of Silbach in the city of Winterberg . The area is located on the eastern slope of the Nordhelle . The area was designated as a NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Winterberg landscape plan .

The NSG consists of the valley area of ​​a nameless side simmering of the Vossmecke. The NSG includes the valley locations with their grassland and forest areas. The grassland is mostly grazed with cattle . Parts of the grassland fell fallow. In the NSG there are also larger forest areas which are mostly planted with red beech .

Protection purpose

The NSG is intended to protect grassland and forest areas with species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
