Nature reserve Hömberg / Brusenbecke / Eberg / Kalte Spring

The Hömberg / Brusenbecke / Eberg / Kalte Spring nature reserve is a 379.38  hectare nature reserve (NSG) southwest of Siedlinghausen in the urban area of Winterberg . The area was designated as a NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Winterberg landscape plan .

The NSG consists of forest. In addition to the beech forest, there are also red spruce stands in the forest . Also ravine forest - and lowland forest areas are located in the NSG. In the NSG there are also rocky areas, springs and sieves. The Neger (Ruhr) originates in the NSG .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the forest with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
