Nature reserve Hangquellmoor am Langenberg

The nature reserve Hangquellmoor am Langenberg is a 1.77 hectare nature reserve (NSG) northwest of Winterberg . In 2008 the area was designated as an NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in the Winterberg landscape plan . The NSG includes the forest there with a hill spring moor. Mainly beech and red spruce grow in the NSG .

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect forest with hillside spring moor with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area was declared a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
