The FC Abercorn (Abercorn Football Club) was a Scottish football club from Paisley , which existed from 1877 to 1920.

history

The club was founded in 1877 and was also a founding member of the Scottish Football League for the 1890/91 season . Right from the start, however, the club was overshadowed by its inner-city rivals FC St. Mirren . The team was able to participate in the FA Cup for the first time in the 1880/81 season . To introduce Division Two , the club rose to the lower league for the first season . Only in the 1896/97 season did the club return to the first division for one season. With 3:33 points, the team immediately relegated at the end of the season.

At the end of the 1908/09 season , the team was again champions of the league with 31:13 points. As well as second again after the 1911/12 season , but there was no promotion to the top division for the team. With the outbreak of the First World War after the 1914/15 season , the club was no longer playing. Due to the lack of a required space, the club then dissolved in the 1920/21 season.
