The Scottish League Cup was played for the 57th time in 2002/03 . The Scottish League Cup, which was officially played as the CIS Insurance League Cup , began on September 7, 2002 and ended with the final on March 16, 2003. The clubs of the Scottish Football League and Scottish Premier League took part in the competition. If a duel was not decided after 90 minutes plus extra time, there was a penalty shoot-out . The Glasgow Rangers secured the title in the Old Firm final against Celtic Glasgow .
