Peter Rosenkrands Løvenkrands (born January 29, 1980 in Hørsholm ) is a former Danish soccer player and today's soccer coach.

Club career

In 2000, the then only 20-year-old offensive all-rounder switched from his first professional station AB Gladsaxe to the Scottish champions Glasgow Rangers . After initial injury problems, the attacker with the strong left foot quickly established himself there and scored 37 goals in 129 league games. He was with the Rangers twice Scottish champion (2003, 2005), once won the Scottish Cup (2002) and twice Scottish Ligacupsieger (2002, 2003).

On July 1, 2006, he moved to the Bundesliga for free transfer to FC Schalke 04 , where he signed a contract until June 30, 2009. Løvenkrands scored the first Bundesliga goal for his new club on November 5, 2006, when Schalke went 1-0 against FC Bayern Munich . His first "double pack", two goals in one game, came in the top game at Werder Bremen on February 4, 2007. Overall, Løvenkrands ended his first season "at Schalke" with six goals this season, although he had two longer injury breaks in the second half of the season robbed. Nevertheless, the striker who was used on the left wing was able to secure a regular place in the team of FC Schalke 04 immediately in his first season, which became German runner-up on May 19, 2007.

Since the beginning of January 2009 Løvenkrands was no longer part of the Schalke professional squad and should only train with the second team before his contract with FC Schalke 04 was terminated on January 7, 2009.

On January 23, 2009 Løvenkrands moved to Newcastle United . There he was relegated to the second English league , but remained loyal to the club and managed to return to the Premier League immediately . After a year with Newcastle United in the Premier League, Løvenkrands moved back to the Football League Championship in the summer of 2012 and signed a contract with Birmingham City .

So far, Peter Løvenkrands has been successful eight times in various European club competitions. The UEFA declared him as the second best player of the Champions League 2005/06 season behind Andriy Shevchenko . On November 17, 2014, after five months without a club and persistent health problems, he ended his active career.

At both the 2002 World Cup and the 2004 European Championship , he was part of the squad of his national team; it was used once each time.
