description

Field cross on the B 312 near Edenbachen

The place is on the federal highway 312 coming from Eichenberg . At the northern end of the village, the state road 299 coming from Bechtenrot flows into the B 312. In 1152 the place was still called "Bachein" . In 1312 it appears as "Edenbachain" as a distinction from the nearby Illerbach . The church affiliation of the place changed several times between the imperial abbey of Ochsenhausen and the rule of Erolzheim. The Reichenbach , a left tributary of the Rot , flows through the Edenbach, which is dammed as it continues to the Reichenbachweiher . The Reichenbachweiher, north of Edenbachen, is located in the surrounding Reichenbachtal. Today, the small town is one of four sub-towns in the Erlenmoos community. The place is characterized by agriculture.

Edenbachen has a fanfare procession and the volunteer fire brigade , which provides fire protection and general help, especially at local level.
