Andrew "Andy" Dorman (born May 1, 1982 in Chester ) is a Welsh football player .

Athletic career

society

Dorman grew up in North Wales. At the age of 18 he went to Boston University in the USA. In 2004 he was signed to the New England Revolution . He has since played for the Massachusetts team . In 2006 he was on the field for all games for the Revs. Since many players failed in this, he played in several positions.

In 2007, as his contract was not renewed, he moved to Scotland for FC St. Mirren . His first game played Dorman on January 19, 2008 against Motherwell FC . After showing good performances in the 2008/09 season and even becoming Player of the Month for February, Mirren extended his contract for a year. He scored twelve goals in the season and was next to Billy Mehmet the most successful goalscorer at FC St. Mirren in the 2008/09 season.

In the summer of 2010, Dorman moved to Crystal Palace in England , where he signed a three-year contract. From there he was loaned to fourth division Bristol Rovers in November 2011 . On August 31, 2012, he terminated his contract with Crystal Palace.

On November 15, 2012, he moved back to New England Revolution.

National team

Dorman was born in England. But he describes himself as a Welshman because he grew up there. His parents and his grandparents themselves do not come from there. For this reason he was not allowed to play for the Welsh national football team at first. In October 2009, FIFA changed the rules and Dorman was eligible to play for Wales, having attended school in Wales for at least five years before his 16th birthday.

He made his debut for the national team on May 23, 2010 against Croatia.

Private

Dorman attended Hawarden High School in Hawarden, Wales. There also are Michael Owen and Gary Speed went to school. His brother, Richie Dorman, is also a soccer player and is currently under contract with Seinäjoen JK in Finland.
