Virslīga 2010

The Virslīga 2011 was the 20th season of the highest Latvian football division since it was re-established in 1992. It was hosted by the Latvian Football Association . The season started on April 2, 2011 and ended on November 5, 2011.

Champion became the fourth time in the club history of FK Ventspils .

mode

Unlike in the previous season, the league only comprised nine teams. The current title holder was the record champions from the Latvian capital, Skonto Riga . Newcomers from the 1st līga were FC Jūrmala and FB Gulbene , last year's seventh-placed SK Blāzma was denied the license.

The championship was played in a regular season in two first and two second round matches. Each team competed four times against every other team. In the 2011 season there was no direct relegation. The bottom of the table played in the relegation against the first-placed from the second-class 1st līga .
