Vladimir Kamešs (born October 28, 1988 in Liepāja ) is a Latvian football player who plays for Amkar Perm in the Russian Premier League .

Career

Vladimir Kamešs began his career in his hometown Liepāja , in the youth of FK Metalurgs . At the age of 17 he made his debut in 2005 under the Lithuanian Benjaminas Zelkevičius in the Virslīga . Up until 2010, the striker only played irregular minutes under various coaches at Metalurgs . Nevertheless, he and his team won numerous titles in Latvia including a cup win and two championships as well as the Baltic League. Only a loan in the second half of the 2010 season to the then second division club FB Gulbene made for the breakthrough after scoring 10 goals in 11 games in the 1st league. Back in Liepāja, Kamešs was able to score double digits in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. In February 2013 he signed a contract with Amkar Perm from Russia .

National team

Vladimirs Kamešs made his debut for the Latvian selection on May 22, 2012 in the international match against the Polish national team in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . He played after the 73rd minute of play for Ivans Lukjanovs in attack, together with Artjoms Rudņevs and later with the substitute Edgars Gauračs . With Latvia he took part in the Baltic Cup in Estonia in the same year . In the first game of the semi-finals against Lithuania , as well as in the final against Finland , he was substituted on. In the final of the 44th Baltic Cup, Kamešs was able to score 3: 3 on penalties and thus had a significant share in the 6: 5 victory and the associated 21st tournament victory of his country.
