The Baltic League 2007 was the third season of football competition for Baltic club teams and the first season after the re-establishment. It took place between March 6, 2007 and November 3, 2007. The winner in the purely Latvian final was Liepājas Metalurgs , who prevailed 3-1 and 5-1 against FK Ventspils .
The four best-placed teams from the Estonian Meistriliiga , the Latvian Virslīga and the Lithuanian A Lyga took part in the Baltic League . The tournament was divided into a group phase and a knockout phase .
The twelve participating clubs were drawn into four groups. Three groups consisted of a first place, a second place and a fourth place from the leagues. In the fourth group, the three third-placed teams from the respective leagues played. In the group stage everyone played against everyone else in the first and second leg.
The four winners and the four runners-up in this group stage advanced to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals, the following semi-finals and the final final were played in knockout mode with a home and return leg; in the event of a tie, the away goals rule decided .
Athletic course
The opening game was played by the teams of FC Flora Tallinn and Vėtra Vilnius on March 6, 2007, and the clubs of Ekranas Panevėžys and FC TVMK Tallinn on the same day . The first goal scorer in the competition was Giedrius Tomkevièius , who scored 1-0 for Ekranas Panevėžys. Apart from JK Trans Narva , who were in Group A, all Estonian clubs were eliminated from the tournament early. However, the reason was also that Narva's group competitor FC Dinaburg was involved in match-fixing , so that they were excluded from the competition. The highest-scoring game of the group stage came on May 22, 2007 in Group B, when FC TVMK Tallinn and Ekranas Panevėžys drew 3-3. Skonto Riga celebrated the clearest victory of the group games with 4-0 against FC Flora Tallinn. After the quarter-finals, a Lithuanian and a Latvian club faced each other in the two semi-finals, with the clubs from Latvia winning. In the final, Liepājas Metalurgs and FK Ventspils faced each other. With a 3: 1 and 5: 1, Metalburgs clearly prevailed and secured the Baltic League Cup. Irts Karlsons , who scored four goals in both finals, played a major role in the success of his team .

All transport and accommodation costs for the participants were borne by the Baltic League , the total budget including prize money was 710,000 euros. The teams from the first leagues of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which could not qualify for the competition, received a payment of 2,875 euros each.
1FC Dinaburg was excluded from the current competition. He is charged with postponing the game against Narva. The appeal against the exclusion was dismissed.
