Andrejs Butriks (born December 20, 1982 in Riga ) is a former Latvian football player .

Career

society

Andrejs Butriks began his professional career in the 2001 season at FK Ventspils in Latvia. He was active for a total of ten seasons with the club from the port city of Ventspils . With 65 goals he was able to score in 200 league games, the striker Butriks was an important part of the club in the 2000s. From 2003 he won a number of titles with the team, including the first cup win in club history in 2003, followed by the first championship in 2006 and the Baltic League in 2010 . In 2010 he was awarded to Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț in Romania for a short time , but remained there without engagement. In the 2011 season he was under contract with FK Jūrmala-VV , but came there only sporadic times. From 2011 to 2012 he played only one league game in Greece for Anagennisi Epanomi during the entire season. When the contract expired, Butriks ended his career.

National team

Andrejs Butriks made his debut in October 2007 for the Latvian national football team in qualifying for the upcoming European Championship in Switzerland and Austria in the game against Denmark , when he was substituted on for Vīts Rimkus . The following year he was used three more times, including in the Baltic Cup against the selection from Lithuania . With players like Andris Vaņins , Vitālijs Astafjevs , Kaspars Gorkšs , Vīts Rimkus, Aleksejs Višņakovs and Aleksandrs Cauņa , he was able to win the 20th title for his home country in this competition.
