Ekranas Panevėžys was a Lithuanian football club from Panevėžys and last played in the first division . It was named after Ekranas , the Lithuanian picture tube manufacturer.
history
On March 3, 1963 the club was founded as FK Ekranas and renamed in 1994 Ekranas Panevėžys. In 2010 the team took part in the CIS Cup , where they failed in the semi-finals after a 3-0 defeat at the Kazakh club FK Aqtöbe . From 2008 to 2012 the club secured the national championship five times in a row and also celebrated the double in 2010 and 2011 with the simultaneous cup win , in 2014 it was dissolved.
European Cup
The team took part in qualifying for the 2006/07 Champions League season . In the first round the team defeated the Albanian representative KF Elbasani , but failed in the second round to Dinamo Zagreb . In the second qualifying round for the 2009/10 season, the club was defeated by FK Baku from Azerbaijan. In the third qualifying round for the 2011/12 season, the club was defeated by the BATE Baryssau from Belarus.
