Igors Savčenkovs (born November 3, 1982 in Ventspils , Latvian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Latvian football player .

Career

society

Igors Savčenkovs began his career in his hometown, in the youth of the Futbola Club Ventspils . In the 2002 season , the tall defender made his debut in the Virslīga for the first time . From 2005 to 2006 Savčenkovs was under contract with FC Dinaburg Daugavpils . In 2007 he returned to his home club for which he remained active in the following 5 seasons, and was able to win the double of the championship and the cup in the first season. By the end of his contract in 2011, he won the championship title two more times and the Latvian Cup once. For Savčenkovs it should be the most successful time in his career, which was only tarnished by two final defeats in the Baltic League in 2009/10 and 2010/11 . In the 2012 season he played as a regular in 35 out of 36 possible matches at Skonto Riga and won the cup in Latvia for the third time. He has been under contract with FC Daugava Daugavpils since 2013 .

National team

Igors Savčenkovs made his debut for the Latvian national football team in 2008 against Romania . Another assignment in 2008 followed for the full-back in the qualifying game for the World Cup in South Africa against Switzerland . In 2012 the last international match followed during the Baltic Cup , which he won with the national selection.
