Baltic League 2009/10

The 2010/11 Baltic League was the sixth season of football competition for Baltic club teams. The league is officially called TrioBet Baltic League . It started on September 21, 2010 and ended on June 18, 2011.

As in the previous season, the five best-placed teams from the Estonian Meistriliiga , the Latvian Virslīga and the Lithuanian A Lyga will take part in the Baltic League . The country that won the last season 2009/10 has six teams, this season it is Latvia because of the victory of FK Ventspils . The tournament will be played in a pure knockout system with a return leg. In the event of a tie, the away goals rule decides , the final final is decided in a single game.

On August 22, 2010, the draw took place in the Olympic Center in Riga , the 16 participating clubs were divided into four pots based on their league position.

There were no changes compared to the previous year for the participants from Estonia. The Lithuanian participants are also almost unchanged. Since this year, however, a team could be registered less, this time Vėtra Vilnius was left out, who were excluded from the national league game operations. From Latvia SK Blāzma and JFK Olimps were there for the first time. Although they only finished seventh and eighth in the league, both fourth-placed FC Daugava Daugavpils and sixth-placed FK Jelgava were not considered for this season.

The opening game of the 2010/11 season was played by FC Flora Tallinn in the home game in the A. Le Coq Arena against FK Sūduva Marijampolė , which was won 2-1. The defending champions FK Ventspils lost their first leg to JK Nõmme Kalju 2-1, but won the second leg at their home in Ventspils Olimpiskais Stadium 4-1.

Round of 16

The first legs of the round of 16 were played between September 21 and October 10, 2010, the second legs between October 10 and November 11, 2010.
