The 2008 Baltic League was the fourth season of football competition for Baltic club teams and took place between March 4, 2008 and October 25, 2008. The winner was FBK Kaunas from Lithuania, who beat Skonto Riga from Latvia 2-1 in the final .
The four best-placed teams from the Estonian Meistriliiga , the Latvian Virslīga and the Lithuanian A Lyga took part in the Baltic League . The tournament was divided into a group phase and a knockout phase .
The twelve participating clubs were drawn into four groups. Three groups consisted of a first place, a second place and a fourth place from the leagues. In the fourth group, the three third-placed teams from the respective leagues played. In the group stage everyone played against everyone else in the first and second leg.
The four winners and the four runners-up in this group stage advanced to the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals and the following semi-finals were played in knockout mode with a return leg, in the event of a tie, the away goals rule decided . In contrast to the previous year, the final final was decided in only one game.

There were only few changes in the participants compared to the previous year. From Latvia there was only one newcomer to the competition with FK Riga . Estonia provided the same teams as a year before and from Lithuania there was also only one completely new participant, Sūduva Marijampolė .

All transport and accommodation costs for the participants were borne by the Baltic League , the total budget including prize money was 710,000 euros. The teams from the first leagues of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, which could not qualify for the competition, received a payment of 2,875 euros each.
