Sergejs Kožans (born February 16, 1986 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player . The defender is currently without a club.

Career

Sergejs Kožans started his career in the youth of Skonto Riga in his hometown Riga. At the age of 19 and 20, Kožans played his first professional season in the Skonto jersey. At the Latvian first division club and record champions of the country, he came to a total of 51 missions and scored 5 goals.

During the summer break of 2009, Kožans and his teammate Ivans Lukjanovs moved to Poland for the first division club Lechia Gdańsk . With the club from Pomerania he signed a contract for three years. In the summer of 2012, his expiring contract was not extended.

In 2011 he was also nominated for the Latvian national football team , but was not used.
