Oļegs Laizāns (born March 28, 1987 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player who plays for Riga FC in Latvia .
Career
society
Oļegs Laizāns, who began his career in his hometown at Skonto Riga , should first appear in the 2005 season in the top Latvian league of Virslīga and make his professional debut. The tall midfielder stayed under contract with Skonto for a total of 7 seasons . With the club that won the championship title in Latvia without interruption from 1992 to 2004, Laizāns only had one runner-up in the 2005 debut season. In the 2009/10 season Laizāns played on loan at the Polish first division club Lechia Gdańsk where he was only used sporadically. In the second half of the 2010 season, he played from Skonto at the Latvian second division club FB Gulbene which he helped with four goals in seven games that this could rise to the Virslīga for the first time in the club's history. In the 2011 season he was under contract with FK Ventspils and was able to win the Latvian Cup in addition to the Latvian Championship (where he came as a regular player to 30 season appearances) . After the end of the season in Latvia, Laizāns moved to the Polish first division club ŁKS Łódź during the winter break in 2011/12 , who was already in the relegation battle at this time. For the club from the third largest city in Poland, he should appear nine times in the second half of the Ekstraklasa 2011/12 , but not prevent relegation at the end of the season. In July 2012 he signed a contract with Yenisei Krasnoyarsk from the Russian 1st Division .
National team
Oļegs Laizāns made his debut for the Latvian national football team in August 2011 in the international match against Finland after he was substituted on for Aleksandrs Fertovs . For the selection of his home country, he was also used in qualifying games for European and World Championships since 2011 . In 2012 he took part with the team in the Baltic Cup in Estonia . With two victories over Lithuania and Finland the total of the 21st title of the Latvian national team could be won at this tournament.
