history

It was founded in 1908 under the name Łodzianka Łódź . The Łódzki KS has so far won the Polish soccer championship twice and the Polish cup competition once. Since the 2000/01 season Łódzki KS played in the 2nd Polish league. In the 2005/06 season, however, they qualified again for the Ekstraklasa with 2nd place . At the end of the 2008/09 season, the club was relegated again through a license withdrawal. After two years in the second class, ŁKS was able to take first place in the 2010/11 season and rose again to the Ekstraklasa, but a year later by return of post again.

After the successful 2018/19 season , Łódź rose again to the top Polish league.

Insolvency, forced relegation and return to the Ekstraklasa

Due to debts with some former players, the club was punished by the Polish Football Association with a license revocation in March 2013 and excluded from regular play. After one game had already been rated 0: 3, the club announced at the beginning of April 2013 that it would withdraw from the 1st division with immediate effect, as the club was unable to pay the outstanding debts. The low point for the club was the game operation in the 4th division, group Łódź, which could be completed in first place. In the 2016/17 season, the club was second in its season of the 3rd division behind Finishparkiet Drwęca Nowe Miasto Lubawskie . Since Nowe Miasto Lubawskie got no license for the 2nd division, Łódź moved up as runner-up. In the following season they were able to move up again in second place and competed in the second-class first division in the 2018/19 season . There, two days before the end, they secured the ascent to the Ekstraklasa .
