Tomasz Kos (born April 4, 1974 in Koło , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .

Career

Kos played for Olimpia Koło and Sokół Pniewy before moving to Łódzki KS in 1996 . In 1998 he won the Polish championship with Łódz and then moved to Germany for FC Gütersloh , where he played 14 times (one goal) in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1999 he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg , for whom he played 49 times in the 2nd and 53 times in the 1st Bundesliga . In his last season at Nuremberg, Kos only had one mission.

In 2004 he moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue . There he was a regular player from the start and developed permanently into a pillar of the club. His first two years were the most successful in the history of the East Germans after reunification: Twice he reached seventh place. Kos played as a right back or center back. In the next two seasons the team could not keep the previous performances and after the 2007/08 season they missed relegation as 16th in the table. After the relegation of FC Erzgebirge to the 3rd league , Kos was one of the few players who extended his expiring contract. After being on the team council before, he succeeded Jörg Emmerich as team captain. In this role he led the association through two years of rebuilding. After returning to the 2010/11 season, Kos extended his contract with FC Erzgebirge Aue for another year until 2011. After he was only able to play half of the season's games due to injury, he ended his professional career at the end of the season at the age of 37.

Kos played three internationals for Poland (2000-2002).
