Batata (real name Sérgio Leândro Seixtos Santos ; born March 23, 1979 in Montes Claros , Brazil ) is a former Polish football player of Brazilian origin. The Polish citizenship received Batata in November of 2006.
Club career
Batata came in 1997 at the age of eighteen from Brazil to Poland , where she played in some clubs ( Łódzki KS , Piotrcovia Piotrków , GKS Katowice , Pogoń Szczecin , KSZO Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski , Widzew Lodz and Groclin Grodzisk ) in the Ekstraklasa and in the second Polish League . From 2001 to 2002 he also played briefly for TuS Koblenz in the league and in 2007 for Gremio Esportivo Brasil in the third Brazilian league. Then he was under contract with the Polish second division side Warta Poznań and played briefly in 2009 for the third division side Stal Niewiadów . In February 2010 he signed a contract with Zawisza Bydgoszcz . After six months he moved to Kotwica Kołobrzeg and again after six months to Motor Lublin . At the end of the 2011/12 season, his expiring contract was not extended. In mid-July 2012 Batata signed a contract until the end of 2012 with the Polish fourth division club Chełmianką Chełm . For the second half of the 2012/13 season he moved to the amateur team Polonia Piotrków Trybunalski in the Klasa okręgowa , the sixth highest division. Here he ended his active career in 2018.

Batata is the brother-in-law of the Brazilian professional footballer Rodrigo (* 1979), who worked for Pogoń Stettin and Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , among others .
