The FK KAMAZ Naberezhnye Chelny ( Russian Футбольный клуб "КАМАЗ" Набережные Челны , scientific. Transliteration Futbol'nyj club KAMAZ Nabereznye Celny ) is a Russian football club from the Tatar city of Naberezhnye Chelny .
history
The association was founded on November 11, 1981 as Trud-PRS . Until 1988, when the club joined the Soviet league system, it was only played in regional tournaments. Until 1992, the club played in the third highest Soviet league, before joining the second-rate first division after the collapse of the Soviet Union . With the championship in 1992 in the “Middle” region, the club even rose to the top division .
After 10th place in the premier season, the team reached 6th place in the top division in 1994 , which is the best placement in the club's history. Then the team took part in the UI Cup, where, among other things, the German Bundesliga club TSV 1860 Munich was defeated, which allowed them to move into the semi-finals, which was lost to the French representative EA Guingamp .
Until 1997 the team held its own in the first class until due to financial difficulties with the main sponsor KAMAZ it had to be relegated. Another year later, the team found itself only in the third-class 2nd division . From 1999 to 2003 the club played in the Ural group of the 2nd division until it was promoted to the 1st division. In recent years, Kamas has always been able to achieve a place in the top third of the table, whereby the rise was just missed. After the 2011/12 season, the club withdrew from the second division due to renewed financial difficulties and now took part in the third-class second division. In 2015, after winning the relay championship center in Perwenstwo PFL, the renewed promotion to the Russian lower house, which has been held as Perwenstwo FNL since 2013 , was celebrated. In the 2015/16 season , the relegation was already determined five game days before the end of the season.
Other names of the association were Trud-PRS (1981–1987), Torpedo (1988–1989) and KAMAS-Tschally (1995–2000).
